Ingredients

Pineapple base
  • 1 cup pineapple juice or crushed pineapple (drained) Use pineapple juice for smoothness, or drained crushed pineapple for slightly more body.
  • 0.5 cup coconut cream or coconut milk Choose canned coconut cream for the creamiest texture.
  • 2 tbsp sugar or agave Adjust to taste based on pineapple sweetness.
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice Adds brightness and balances sweetness.
  • 0.25 vanilla extract For the classic Dole Whip flavor.
  • 0.125 tsp salt A small pinch makes the fruit flavor pop.

Equipment

  • 1 Ninja Creami

Method

Blend the mixture
  1. Blend pineapple juice or crushed pineapple (drained) with coconut cream or coconut milk, sugar or agave, lemon juice, vanilla extract, and salt until completely smooth, with no visible pineapple bits.
Freeze
  1. Pour the mixture into the Ninja Creami pint container and freeze for 24 hours until solid.
Process into soft serve
  1. Process on the Sorbet or Lite Ice Cream setting to form a thick pineapple soft serve with a swirlable texture.
  2. If the texture is too firm, add 1 tablespoon pineapple juice and Re-spin to loosen it to a pipable consistency.
Serve
  1. Transfer the pineapple soft serve into a piping bag and pipe into cups for the classic Dole Whip swirl.
  2. Alternatively, serve directly from the pint for an easy spoonable treat.

Notes

Pro tip: For the most iconic creamy swirl, use canned coconut cream and make sure the pint is fully frozen before processing. Store covered in the freezer up to 2 days; for best scoopability, let sit at room temperature for 2–3 minutes before serving. Freezing after processing can harden, so avoid repeated freezes. If you want an extra-tropical twist, swap in a portion of crushed pineapple for chunks and blend just until smooth.
