Method
Build the spritz
- Fill a large wine glass with ice. The glass should be well-packed so the drink stays cold and clear, with visible chunks around the sides.
- Pour in Aperol and chilled apple cider. Tilt the glass slightly and pour slowly so the orange layers form before the bubbles hit.
- Top with chilled prosecco and sparkling water. Add carefully to preserve carbonation; stop when the glass looks about 3/4 full and you see steady bubbles.
- Stir gently once to combine. Give a single slow stir with minimal motion so you don’t lose fizz.
- Garnish with the thin apple slice and cinnamon stick, then serve immediately. The apple should rest against the rim and the cinnamon stick should lean into the drink for aroma.
Notes
Pro tip: chill the apple cider, prosecco, and sparkling water first—cold ingredients slow dilution and keep the spritz crisp. Store leftovers in the fridge up to 1 day, but note it will lose carbonation; freezing is not recommended. Dietary swap: replace prosecco with dry sparkling water or a non-alcoholic sparkling wine for a lower-alcohol option.
