Hi, I’m Jeff — chef, storyteller, and the guy behind EveryBiteTells.
This blog was born from a lifelong love for food and the stories it carries. I believe every dish — no matter how simple — holds a memory, a mood, or a message. Whether you’re a curious beginner, a busy parent, or someone chasing the perfect bite, welcome to my kitchen.
My Family
I’m a husband and a dad to one little guy who’s already curious about what’s happening on the stove. My wife is the one who keeps me grounded when I start obsessing over garlic techniques. She’s also the first one to tell me when a recipe needs more salt — and she’s usually right. Our kitchen is often loud, a little messy, and full of love. That’s where this blog comes from.

My Story
I grew up in a home where food was the most honest way to connect. My mother ran a tight, no-waste kitchen. My grandfather told stories at the table that started with bread and ended with laughter. I learned early that food isn’t just about eating — it’s about remembering, celebrating, and passing things on.
Over time, cooking became more than a skill for me. It became a craft, a form of therapy, and eventually, a career.
My Background
I started my journey in a local diner, working the line during high school weekends. That turned into culinary school, then years of working in restaurants — from rustic kitchens to polished fine-dining spots.
- Culinary Arts Degree, 2012 – where I sharpened not only my knife skills but also my philosophy around food
- Executive Chef roles in both family-owned and upscale restaurants
- Food consultant and recipe developer for small brands and private clients
But while I love the professional kitchen, my heart has always been in the home — where food means comfort, improvisation, and connection.
Why I Started This Blog
After years in restaurant kitchens, I realized that the best cooking happens at home — where meals don’t have to be perfect, just meaningful.
I created EveryBiteTells to share recipes that are rooted in flavor, tradition, and personal experience, but also doable in your own kitchen.
Whether it’s a slow-cooked stew from my childhood or a last-minute pasta that saved a Tuesday night — every recipe has a story.

What Makes This Blog Different
I’m not here to impress — I’m here to connect. That’s why:
- Every recipe comes from my real life and has been cooked more than once
- I keep ingredients practical, not precious
- I write like I cook — clearly, confidently, and with room to adjust
- I share the wins and the mess-ups, because that’s how real food works
You don’t need fancy equipment or a perfect kitchen. Just a love for flavor and a willingness to stir.
Thank You for Being Here

With respect,
Chef Jeff
